Peres Believes That Obama Will Use Force Against Iran If Diplomacy Efforts Fail, Iran Moves Forward Regardless

President Shimon Peres believes that if diplomatic efforts with Iran fail, then Obama will not hesitate to use force in order to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Speaking with the Israel Hayom newspaper this week, with Israel’s 65th Independence Day just a week away, President Peres said, “I have no doubt that if diplomatic talks fail with Iran and Tehran doesn’t stop accelerating its nuclear development – U.S. President Barack Obama will conduct a military attack against Iran. Preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon isn’t only an Israeli interest, but a global and an American interest. As long as the U.S. is in the lead — why shouldn’t we use its assistance?

With the latest round of discussions in Kazakhstan hitting a dead end, both sides have not being able to schedule talks for another time and date either.

In addition, both demands made by world powers have been turned down by Tehran: the first being suspending its uranium enrichment to 20 percent while the second condition being shipping out its existing stockpile as well.

In fact, Iran announced the opening of two uranium mines and the opening of a plant on National Nuclear Technology Day with the latter having the capability of churning out 60 tons of raw uranium every year.

Iran’s President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the occasion, said that even though world powers have placed restrictions and issued threats, they have not been able to stop Iran’s progress to achieve nuclear energy. The only way forward, according to him, is for world powers to cooperate with Iran.
