Obamacare, according to President Obama, is working since the healthcare law that was signed a few years ago has signed up almost 4 million people.
In telling his supporters to get more people to sign up for Obamacare at their website, Obama said, “We’ve got more work to do. A combination of an implacable opposition that has spent hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions of dollars, spreading misinformation on this plan. You combine that with, let’s face it, the website didn’t work for the first month.”
Obama made these comments at a gathering which was put together by a group called Organizing for Action which has evolved into a political entity that was responsible for his political campaign in 2012.
Apart from this, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released a statement saying that a full enrollment report for the month of February will be released in mid-March.
The figure given by the President showed an addition of 700,000 people to the 3.3 million people that enrolled since October despite the technical issues that the HealthCare.gov site experience since its rollout at the same time.
As for the year of 2014, the nonpartisan COngressional Budget Office has changed its enrollment forecast from 7 million to 6 million people as a whole.
All these developments are occurring despite the Republicans’ attacks of the healthcare bill in an effort to use against the Democrats in November’s battle for the control of Congress.
