Statement by the Press Secretary on the President’s Call to Ohio Governor Ted Strickland

“The President told Governor Strickland that he and Michelle were very sorry to hear about the loss of life and expressed his concern for the people of Ohio. The two spoke about the fact that it will take time until we know the full extent of the damage and that FEMA would begin to conduct preliminary damage assessments tomorrow. The President assured Governor Strickland that the federal government would provide a quick turn-around for any requests for assistance if needed.”
