Obama's train, known as the Obama Express, stopped in Wilmington, Delaware to pick up Joe Biden, and a stop in Baltimore where he delivered another speech. Abraham Lincoln delivered over 100 speeches on his 1861 train journey.

January 19, 2009 Barack Obama pays tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. by serving the community on Martin Luther King Day. Obama starts his day by visiting the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and later visits Calvin Coolidge High School where the students are working on projects which support US troops overseas. Michelle Obama also helps on The National Day of Service by volunteering with Operation Gratitude - Serving DC.



January 19, 2009 Barack Obama continues his National Day of Service by painting walls, cabinets, and drawers at Sasha Bruce House, an emergency shelter for homeless and runaway teens in Washington. Marin Luther King III worked alongside Obama.
