Conservatives around the country have a new idea: impeaching the President.

If Democrats thought that President Obama had proved his legitimacy by producing his birth certificate, then that’s hardly the case as Republican members of Congress are being pressured at town halls across the country to unseat the President by means of an impeachment.

While some people believe that Obama must be stopped because of the changes he is making to the Constitution while others still think that his birth certificate is fraudulent. Other lawmakers are reluctant to take these suggestions for an impeachment seriously, as there is barely a chance of them getting an impeachment through the Senate.

Even if lawmakers don’t consider this a possibility, this isn’t stopping impeachment activists from waving their signs in almost 17 states even if it is only a few people making up these impeachment “rallies”.

And with the release of a new book this week, Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office, written by Brenda Elliott and Aaron Klein, it looks as if the movement is about to pick up steam. The number of preorders for the book, even before it has been released, has hit the six figure mark and the authors plan to send copies of the book to the White House.

If one asks what is the case for Obama’s impeachment, as his misdemeanors must falls under “Treason, Bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors”, the authors believe it falls in the second category.

And even if they do believe that their book has been carefully prepared with an investigative and non-partisan approach, it only presents a wild-eyed view of the President’s efforts that the Republican Party is trying to avoid.

Yet there’s no doubt that this book will encourage the movement that considers Obama’s impeachment and necessity, or worse still, a distinct possibility.
