A new book reveals, that in speaking with Sean Smith’s widow, one of the victims of the Benghazi killings, President Obama promised to avenge their deaths.
Obama’s words at a rally, soon after he spoke with Smith’s widow, confirmed the claims made by the book, where he said, “We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”
The book, titled Panic 2012, and written by a reporter called Michael Hastings, also mentioned that Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, spoke to the widow that day.
While the widow’s response to Obama was of agreement where she did not believe he said the ‘wrong things’, this information was revealed as a result of Clinton’s testimony to the House Foreign Relations Committee and the U.S Senate in regard to the manner in which the State Department was handling the attack.
In her address to the aforementioned committees, she also said that they had uncovered ‘promising leads’ based on which cases were being put together. In fact, the U.S is now focusing on more than a few people of which Ali Harzi, one of the suspects from Tunisia, has caused them more frustration than ever.
However, she had assurances from the Tunisian government that he was being monitored despite being released on not being able to present evidence in an open court.
Clinton also said that the President will not waver from his goal of bringing these criminals to justice and will definitely keep his word, as he has, in the past.
