With more Americans disapproving his immigration policies, Obama’s approval ratings have dropped even further down to 31 percent.
Two reasons for this crash is because of the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border as well as the inability to carry out comprehensive reform legislation.
Obama has not only had to take criticism from his party members for not being able stop deportations but the Republicans are accusing the President of not doing his job, thanks to the influx of children across the US-Mexican border.
Conducted by Gallup, the current figures reveal that these figures show an increase in disapproval by 10 percent compared to the result from a study carried out in August 2013.
The last time Obama’s approval rating was so low was when this poll was taken in 2010 where it was even lower than the 31 percent that was the result this time.
One good reason for this low ratings is because Obama has fallen out of favor with members from a number of political parties and leanings as well as voting Democrats as well.
Speaking of Democrats, their approval has dropped to 60 percent whereas it is at 25 percent for independents. Only 8 percent of Republicans approve of the President’s actions while about 90 percent of them condemn them.
That said, most Americans do not consider immigration reform to be important for both Congress and the President even if the President has repeatedly stated that it is an integral part of his legislative priorities.
This Gallup survey was conducted between June 5-8 with 1027 participants involved in the form of telephone interviews.
