Poll Finds Obama Catching Up with Romney Lead on Economy and Jobs

Reflecting the confidence of voters that the White House policies are working, a recent poll by CBS News and The New York Times reveals that Obama has taken away the advantage from Romney when it comes to matters of the economy and job creation.

In a follow-up interview, Anita Young, aged 42, says, “I believe the country is going in the right direction, little by little. Are things moving fast enough? No, of course not, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Prior to this poll, a majority of voters still disapproved of the manner in which Obama handled the economy was made obvious by the figures that 7 out of 10 people who rated the economy as ‘bad’ or ‘fairly bad’.

Now, with this recent poll, those numbers have changed, for the first time since Obama was responsible for the killing of Osama Bin Laden, with the latter having a job approval rating standing at 51 percent. Even better is the fact that the number of adults who believe that the country is on the right track is at 40 percent although 54 don’t agree.

On the other hand, Obama is already ahead of Romney when it comes to foreign policy, dealing with issues of the middle class as well as Medicare. One can only surmise that with the Democratic convention just over, Obama’s pleas for patience has not fallen on deaf ears.

With that being said, 1 out of 10 voters who already support a candidate has said that they might still change their minds.
