An anti-amnesty lawsuit against Barack Obama’s revision of immigration law has been thrown out by a former top aide to Senator Patrick Leahy as it lacks the “standing”.
Beryl Howell, a district judge and clearly a liberal supporter of higher immigration, explained her decision, in saying, “The role of the Judiciary is to resolve cases and controversies properly brought by parties with a concrete and particularized injury — not to engage in policymaking better left to the political branches.”

Of course, this case is only a precursor to the battle due to take place in Texas where 24 states have filed a case against Obama’s amnesty with a judge who has already slammed the President’s failure to carry out immigration law effectively.
It goes without saying that the stakes are very high when it comes to this lawsuit and the decision taken will decide whether Obama’s amnesty survives or not. This is despite the fact that a number of top GOP leaders support his policy even if it is not popular among GOP voters.
The reason for this support stems from the benefit that the amnesty offers to corporate donors who will receive millions of taxpayer-subsidized consumers and workers. Their support was made clear by GOP leaders who pushed for funding through Wall Street that allows banks to make risky investments using funds that are protected by federal insurance.
As Howell dismissed the case that claimed that Obama’s amnesty is unconstitutional, the White House applauded her decision.
