Obama Expresses Disappointment with 2016 Presidential Campaign

Obama has expressed disappointment with the way the 2016 Presidential campaign has turned out so far.

According to him, candidates are spending way too much time on debates rather than outlining actual policy proposals.

In speaking NBC’s Lester Holt, Obama said, “The problem with election season is sometimes folks want to devote a lot more time to sloganeering and stirring folks up emotionally. But they’re not spending enough time really trying to explain to the American people what exactly are you trying to do.”

It’s very clear that there is a distinct lack of substance in this particular campaign with just how Republican candidates reacted to the questions about their tax plans.

Yet as the President suggests, this takes in just about every Presidential campaign including the one he ran in 2008.

Of course, Obama also participated in some sloganeering of his own with catchwords such as “Hope”, “Change” and “Yes, we can” that were very successful.

His win over both John McCain and Hillary Clinton was hardly based on a pledge to roll back the Bush tax cuts.

In other words, his dissatisfaction about candidates not explaining “what you are trying to do” was hardly what he did during the 2008 campaign but actually no different from Trump’s “Make America Great Again”.

Yet it must be pointed out that it was far more original and because Obama was truly the change that he wanted to bring to the United States.

So, why is the President making a fuss about things that occur in every Presidential campaign?

It’s probably because they’re imitating everything that he did.
